IsItTheFuture.com is a site that allows people to look into the future and vote on it. We have estimated the time it might take for each topic to become a reality. Using the date filter you can look at just the time period that interests you. For each topic you can can vote on whether it is actually the future, discuss it in the forums, and view related images uploaded by other users. |

When all the crystal balls are turned on topics with projections of right now (0 years away), 1, 5, 10, 25 years are displayed. The default for the time filter is that all the crystal balls will be turned on. Filters can be turned on and off by mouse clicking on the crystal ball. |

In this example I have turned off the 0, 5, and 10 year crystal balls. As a result only topics with projections of 1 or 25 years will be displayed. It is possible to turn on and off any combination of crystal balls. The filter applies to all topics on the current page. The current filter settings will be carried over to category pages as well. |

When you click on a topic (the image or the read more link) from the home page you will be shown details about the topic. The first tab shows the forum that is dedicated to this topic. Topics that are added to this forum are also viewable on the discussion board page (they are two views on the same forum). |

Each topic also contains a detailed description. The related links can also be added. In most cases the source will also be a link to a source article. |

For each topic users can also upload images with captions. Once an image is added we will review it and display it if not found to be inappropriate. |

The discussion boards page displays all the topic forums. If a user posts a message using the forums here the post will also show up when someone navigates to the details for a topic. Also clicking on topic description from the discussion page will bring the user to topic's detail page. The forums have all the features of most popular forums including, avatars, post subscriptions, polls, and more! |

To maintain your discussion board profile (including adding an avatar) select the "My Profile" link on the main discussion page |

To add a topic that interests you all you need to specify is the time period, category, a name, and a short description. The rest of the items are optional. If you don't provide the other items we will track it down for you!
If you are up for more you can add a longer description into the editor, or if you're a techie, put it in using the built in HTML editor. If you have a favorite image you can upload it at the bottom of the page. Images that are somewhat square and more than 250 by 250 pixels usually work best.
Once we have reviewed your topic we will add it to the site and people will vote on it! |
